Animal Welfare

Fauna Australis is a leading research group that combines wildlife conservation and animal welfare science in South America since 2001.

Our research about Animal Welfare and Wildlife Conservation includes:

1. The effect of habitat changes for forest birds in the temperate rainforest of southern Chile.

2. The impact of feral domestic animals in wildlife and livestock.

3. The consequence of South American wild camelids management and the impact of diseases and climate change.

4. The conflict between carnivores and livestock in small scale farming of remote mountain ecosystem along different regios of Chile.

5. Diseases transmission, habitat displacement and predation of wildlife by feral dogs.
